Celebrating Three Decades of Business with the Opening of a New Store

Medius is a retail chain that has grown its local presence in the Srem region of Vojvodina. The business, started in Nova Pazova three decades ago under the leadership of owner Cviko Krunić, has expanded into a network of 32 stores spread across Stara and Nova Pazova, Inđija, Beška, Ugrinovac and surrounding smaller towns, with more than 500 employees. Besides retail, Medius also operates its butcher shop, a facility that will finish this year with 1,600 tons of fresh meat and delicacies produced.

As colleagues in the industry and partners on all existing projects, we know that

Medius’s particular merit lies in bringing standards, quality service, aesthetics, and business principles to a local level typically associated with much larger retail formats. The fact that Medius has provided customers in Golubinci, Batajnica, and Banovci with an excellent shopping experience sets a high bar for all businesses in the region and benefits satisfied consumers, whose shopping perception is not behind those who shop in large, well-known stores.

The person behind Medius’s success is Duško Tadić. Young and energetic, Duško joined the family business and dedicated his energy, work, and talent. When you interact with him, you immediately notice the respect he shows his associates, from external partners to store employees. It is easy to assume that he and his attitude are precisely responsible for the spirit of cooperation and goodwill that Medius promotes at every turn.

Input tailor-made solution

We delivered the complete shelving system for the new Medius store in Stara Pazova, from standard to custom-made bread shelves, alcohol displays, promotional islands, and islands for fresh fruits and vegetables. There are also shelves for storage areas, cold room chambers, and checkout and entrance systems. All these solutions were created while respecting the visual identity of Medius. The gates in front of the customers are adorned with etched branding elements and the Medius logo on the glass, while the shelving systems across the entire retail chain stand out with their distinctive element – mesh side dividers on the alcohol shelves by which this chain is recognized. Among the specific client requests we approached in a personalized manner was the decorative hood above the grill.

#FunFact

The Medius store project resulted in the installation of over 140 meters of shelving. Each meter was given special attention to ensure it was tailored to the client's requirements and met the highest standards at every stage.

Challenges & Solutions

When the client has a defined visual identity and branding elements that consumers recognize, the task is to respect those frameworks and adapt to the specific location and its particularities. We achieved the challenge of balancing these two demands by studying Medius’s distinctive features and then adapting to them by creating details and decorative elements.

#TipsAndTricks

Retail chains that develop and utilize visual identity and branding elements achieve greater customer recognition. Consumers, on the other hand, form an emotional attachment to brands and stores that they can easily recognize.

Hands-on Impressions

When a retail chain marks 30 years of existence by opening a new store, it's clear that the business is on solid foundations. The atmosphere in Medius markets confirms this: friendly and smiling staff, a spirit of trust and respect that flows from the company’s leadership to every employee. Medius is a well-managed establishment where the organization and attention to product presentation, store cleanliness and displays, stock levels, and customer experience are continuously and carefully managed.

#InsideRetail

It is easy for customers to choose a particular retail chain when they feel that its employees are dedicated – from the owner to the sales staff. This dedication is what makes Medius unique and justifies the celebration of this important anniversary. All communication channels were engaged for the 30th-anniversary celebration, from the opening ceremony of the new store to the branding of the interior and the employees themselves – proper omnichannel communication! The shirts with “30 years in business” that the sales staff wear are a simple, effective way to convey the company’s message.

Collaboration is Key

The recipe for success is simple: on one side is a client who knows the direction they want to take their business, and on the other is a service provider who knows how to help them achieve it.

#RetailHarmony

Duško and his team have a vision, know what they want, and know how to obtain it. The process is further enriched by goodwill, a positive atmosphere, and openness, which happens when both sides are open and willing to listen to ideas and work together to find ideal solutions.
